THEIA

YEAH! Smooth vintage crunch rising up to f*ckin' Doom!

Theias basic circuit is inspired by the schematic of the Civil War Big Muff. The main differences to the EHX-classic are a special selection of different transistor types with a higher gain, a modified tone stack and a completely changed clipping arrangement. There are also some more smaller mods to tweak and harmonize the entire circuit. In addition to the three classic controls this one has a three-position switch called "Punch". Here you can affect the tone and give it a little touch of a rather creamy distortion in the low - or some thunderous attack & bass response in the middle position. In the upper setting you get a some more compressed & less gainy sounding influence. The overall result is a tight, fat sound with a less scooped frequency response, which will give you a nice load of extra punch in the mix. The output volume is not too high, but definitely high enough. It's not a clean booster of course. This dude wants to get cranked all the way up to free its full tone - without ending in uncontrollable feedback hell. The maximum distortion is way higher than the Civil wars, but anyway this one stays always relatively clear and articulate. Compared to its Muff-ancestors.
